Flowers

Biography

After retiring Janet DeSoto began to pursue her interests in horticulture, art and photography. While her pictures include a variety of subjects the greater portion of her work has been flowers and mannequins. Her gardens have provided willing subjects and she has, for years, attempted to capture their sensuous beauty. Her pictures of mannequins were taken in a studio where hundreds of mannequins were stored. She continues to be fascinated by the ability of mannequins to evoke human emotion and reflect social situations.

As the world of photography began moving from film to digital imaging Mrs. DeSoto left the magic of the darkroom and entered the captivating world of computers and Epson printers. She is continuing to explore the endless possibilities for combining photography with digital art. Her work has been exhibited at Framin’ Place, Dundalk Community College and the Great Exposure Photo Gallery.

Prints

Images are printed with pigment-based Epson UltraChrome K-3 inks on digital fine-art paper. Protect the print, as you would a watercolor painting, from high levels of moisture or direct sunlight. Ideally the framing will include UV filtering glass.
